The challenge
‍
NWC was responsible for coordinating the daily dispatch of thousands of water tankers across Riyadh to serve residential and corporate clients. The process was previously handled manually, with dispatchers checking availability and assigning drivers based on outdated systems. This legacy workflow created delays, inefficiencies, and stock management issues at filling stations—especially with the scale of demand.
‍
Key pain points
‍
- Manual assignment of drivers and tankers for dispatch.
- Lack of visibility into real-time stock at filling stations.
- Cumbersome legacy systems prone to human error.
- High operational complexity due to scale: thousands of tankers, stations, and daily orders.
‍
The solution
‍
LTS delivered a custom-built Tanker Management System that automated the entire lifecycle of water dispatch—from order placement to delivery—what the client called the “Uberization” of tanker operations.
‍
The platform includes:
- Automated Order Assignment: Orders are automatically matched to available drivers and tankers based on location, load, and capacity.
- Real-Time Stock Monitoring: Seamless tracking of water levels at 370 filling stations.
- Web-Based Interface: Built with AngularJS and ASP.NET, ensuring a responsive and modern user experience.
- Secure Data Environment: MSSQL for backend data, with VPN connectivity and F5 for secure, high-availability infrastructure.
‍
Implementation highlights
- 16,000 Water Tankers
- 3,000 Sewer Tankers
- 17,000 Registered Drivers
- 5,000 Orders Processed Daily
- 370 Water Filling Stations
- 68 Sewer Stations
- 2,500 Service Zones
- 20,000 Users / 30,000 Customers

With the new system, NWC achieved:
- Full automation of order dispatch, drastically reducing manual workload.
- Real-time visibility into stock, driver availability, and delivery progress.
- Increased productivity through streamlined operations.
- Improved accuracy and customer satisfaction, with faster, more reliable service.
- Centralized management of drivers, orders, and inventory—across a massive, multi-zonal operation.
The Tanker Management Solution transformed NWC’s delivery process into a modern, data-driven operation, setting a benchmark for large-scale utility logistics in the region.
